A limited liability company is required to keep full accounts, that is, it must account for all operations carried out in accordance with accounting principles. In addition, it must keep records of fixed assets, once a year prepare financial statements, that is, a balance sheet with profit and loss account. It must account for taxes and Social Security contributions, if it is a VAT payer it is obliged to keep an appropriate register, maintain books of account and keep all documentation for five years.

In extreme cases, the owners of a limited liability company may be liable with their own assets if it is proven that they were negligent.
